the house and grounds are very picturesque, the rooms were comfortable albeit lacking in standard ammeimeties ie: no tea or coffee facilities no toiltries in the rooms. We have never stayed at any guest house where we have to remove our shoes to avoid walking on the carpets but the owners constantly insisted that we complied, we felt it was overpriced. we felt the welcome from the male owner and his overall attitude to us was more akin to Basil Fawlty, although we can laugh about it now but at the time we felt a little like prisoners constatly having to ask to be allowed in and out of the electric controlled gates, we really felt like naughty children instead of paying guests
