Welcome to the Kent Gliding Centre website. The Gliding Centre is the home of the Kent Gliding Club, and provides opportunities for everyone to experience the wonder of flight. Please feel free to explore the website where you will find lots of information regarding our activities. We are open every day from early April to late September with the majority of club and social activities taking place on weekends and Wednesdays. During the winter months club activity is reduced but we are still active weekends and Wednesdays. Visitors are welcome to visit the club to watch gliding in progress from the safety of the clubhouse grounds but should contact the office before travelling to the club.

Our airfield at Challock, established in 1963, is set in beautiful countryside on top of the North Downs. This location, which the club owns outright, gives us access to excellent thermal soaring as well as ridge soaring all the way to Rochester when the wind obliges. Our facilities include a modern clubhouse, administration office, briefing room, bar, comfortable accommodation and parking. We also have an on site maintenance facility, hangars, trailer parking and caravan pitches. The club fleet consists of modern training and solo gliders available to all members. Current membership stands at around 120 active pilots, of whom 20 are qualified BGA Instructors and a further 10 are tug pilots.
