Welcome to Bristol Diabetes

Bristol Diabetes . Access

This site is based on information I have wanted to find out since my diagnosis with type 2 diabetes. I have put on this site, the information that I find personally useful.

See the about this site page for more on this. If you want a professional site, I recommend the charity site www.diabetes.org.uk for any UK visitor.

If you have diabetes, understanding how diabetes can affect you could greatly help in controlling your diabetes. The options in your control like diet and exercise really can make a large difference.

If you don't have diabetes; factors like being over weight, taking little exercise, having close relatives with diabetes and poor diet all make you you more likely to develop type 2 diabetes.

If you are new to diabetes, the basics page may answer some of your questions. If your worried you may have diabetes try the diabetes symptoms page.

Humour and Diabetes

Joke #323 (12th set) with a little extra. With thanks to the Jewish Joke site A Word in your Eye.
A Frenchman, a German, a Englishman (from Bristol as it happens) and a Jew are lost in the desert, wandering for days.

The German says, "I'm tired and I'm thirsty. I must have a beer."

The Frenchman says, "I'm tired and thirsty. I must have some wine."

The Bristolian says "I'm tired and I'm thirsty I must have some cider."

The Jew says, "I'm tired and I'm thirsty. I must have diabetes."
