Fishburn airfield is an unlicensed grass flying strip close to the town of Sedgefield in the north east of England, UK.
The Airfield is very convenient for the City of Durham and its University 8 miles north west and Sedgefield Racecourse 2 miles south.

WARNINGS: There is an upslope of approximately 6 percent when using R/W 26 which flattens off about 150 m before the 08 threshold. There are 200ft AGL Pylons 0.5nm to the east and north. Teesside CTR (Class D Airspace) is 4nm to the South with Sedgefield VRP 2nm to the south.
100LL Fuel is to be available from June 1996. Hangarage can be provided by arrangement. Accommodation is available 2nm south. Light refreshments, toilets and a pay phone are available on the airfield. The landing fee is 2 pounds.
The Airfield is PPR (Prior Permission Required) and restricted to operations and take-offs between 8am and 8pm Monday to Saturday and 9:30am to 8pm on Sundays. The last landing allowed is slightly later at 8:30pm on all days.

From the South
Leave the A1(M) at Junction 60 and take the A689 East towards Hartlepool for 2 miles until reaching a roundabout junction with the A177. Take the A177 North for two miles until reaching a farm track on the right going up a hill. The windsock should be visible to the right of the track as you go up it. Turn right toward the hangers before reaching the adjacent farm.
From the North
Leave the A1(M) at Junction 61 and take the A177 South toward Sedgefield for 6 miles until reaching a farm track on the left, about half a mile after a short section of Dual Carriageway. As above.
The airfield itself has a clubhouse and snackbar and offers good views of the surrounding countryside, being on a hilltop. A variety of aircraft are based in the hangers. Should you wish to leave the airfield you can call for a Taxi - perhaps to one of the following suggestions.
Part of the hotel gardens have been transformed into a small country park with a woodland nature trail and picnic areas around a pond.
Also sharing the entrance to the Hotel and Country park is a Quad Bike Racetrack a further mile down a farm track from the A177. Bikes are available for hire 7 days a week throughout the year although times vary so do telephone in advance. The bikes vary in sizes for all ages from 50cc to 200cc and are available for 15 minute intervals starting at £6.00 for a 90cc bike.
