Credit Repair Programme

Are you looking to repair your credit rating? If so, a credit repair programme could be the solution.

But will a credit repair programme really work? Well, in theory, yes it should, but there are good and bad ones out there so make sure you choose the one that suits you best.

The money you owe could be from an overdue student loan, years of using credit cards in the wrong way or just small things that have accumulated and got worse over the years because you have ignored them.

A credit repair programme will first ask you to look at where you stand and get a list of all the outstanding monies you owe, always check and double-check this list as it could be wrong, some may have been added on incorrectly or some you may have already paid off.

Next, the Credit repair programme should look at the next stage which is making sure from now on, you pay all your bills on time, and if you can afford to try and pay a little bit extra, as they say, every little helps. Avoid applying for more credit, focus on paying off the debts you have first before starting new ones.

Take charge of your credit card bills, these are usually the ones that will be charging you the highest interest so if you can pay them off as quickly as possible if you have more than one pay a little bit of each one every month to bring the outstanding amounts you owe down.

We mentioned earlier about not applying for more credit, if you do this will be recorded on your credit report as a “hard enquiry”, too many of these will affect your credit score. Once you have started paying back what you owe on a regular basis, it will show on your credit rating, it could take months or years depending on what you owe but stick with it, it will be worth it in the long run.

Buying a used car online

Buying a used car online seems to be the norm nowadays, especially with the coronavirus around the fewer places we must physically go to the better.

Buying a used car online looks from the outset a relatively easy process if you are buying from a reputable company, but what happens if you are not happy with the car when it is delivered? Or it develops a fault, it is not as easy as just popping back to the local car showroom you bought it from… or is it?

Firstly if you are not happy with the vehicle when it’s delivered to you, you will have a 14-day cooling-off period which is covered under the Consumer rights act, the government has also set out online consumer protection rules in the consumer contracts regulations (2013) this allows the consumer to return the product (in this case a vehicle) with no questions asked.

Some independent car dealers will offer a 14-day return period on their cars anyway to give the customer peace of mind when buying a used car online.

There are a few stipulations to the rule though, so most online dealers will only allow about 100 miles to be put on the car before you can hand it back, as any more miles than that could allow the value of the car to depreciate and it must still be in the condition the car was sold to you in. If you try and hand the car back with more miles and damage on it you will almost certainly be hit with a penalty, so make sure you read the small print before you decide to hand it back.

For any faults that may appear after the 14-day cooling-off period, should be covered by the warranty that the car came with, and you will usually be asked to take it to a local dealership for them to have a look at it.

Rare Earth Magnets

Rare earth magnets are strong permanent magnets made from alloys of rare-earth elements. They were developed in the 1970s and 1980s, they are significantly stronger when compared to other types such as Alnico and Ferrite magnets.

There are two main types of rare earth magnets: Neodymium Magnets and Samarium-cobalt Magnets, they are usually very brittle as well as being vulnerable to corrosion, so they usually must be plated or coated. This stops them from breaking, chipping or crumbling.

Rare Earth Magnet Manufacturers

Since prices became more competitive in the 1990s, rare earth magnets such as neodymium have been overtaking the market for alnico and ferrite magnets.

They are used in many applications that require powerful magnets of all sizes. If you own a TV, computer, phone or car – chances are they contain some form of rare earth magnets. They are essential in building the technology we all use daily.

Although they are not a ‘rare’ material as you would expect, they are difficult to recover and mine which makes it a longer process. As technology demand increases in the last twenty years, the demand has been passed on for rare earth magnets and will continue to increase in the future. Without them, we wouldn’t be able to use many ‘essential’ items we all rely on.

Other common applications of rare-earth magnets include:

  • computer hard disk drives
  • wind turbine generators
  • speakers/headphones
  • bicycle dynamos
  • MRI scanners
  • fishing reel brakes
  • permanent magnet motors in cordless tools
  • high-performance AC servo motors
  • traction motors and integrated starter-generators in hybrid and electric vehicles
  • mechanically powered flashlights
  • industrial uses such as maintaining product purity, equipment protection, and quality control
  • magnet toys

Rail Forgings

The railways have a vast history, it is believed the first railway system was built in 600 BC, in Greece. This was a very simple rail system, with grooves dug into the ground and guided carts pushed along them. The next evolution of rail travel happened in 2100 years later in Europe.

The 1760s was when metal rail took shape, the wooden rails previously used were replaced with metal rails, and rail forgings became a thing! The first steam locomotive happened in 1784. With electric railways happening in 1837. The next to arrive was a diesel railway that was in 1906. The next addition was high-speed trains reaching up to 267 miles per hour.

Railway Track

Many companies now carry out rail forgings, this is usually made from galvanized steel and can include fabrications and presswork.

Rail forgings companies will have many years of forging experience with core skills and a set skill base.

Many processes go into Rail Forgings.

Here we will look at just some of them, rail forgings can include signalling equipment, track products and electric cubicles.

Signalling equipment in railway forging can include the following:

Signalling systems can include the following: location cases, various panels and spare parts, level crossing systems.

Track Products can include the following: Trackside walkways, Cable support brackets, troughing tunnel brackets and trackside platforms.

Electric Cubicles can include the following: Point clips, track gauges, fishplates, and broken rail clamp assemblies.

Advantages of a Business & Administration Apprenticeship

What is it like being a business and administration apprentice?

people sitting on chairs in class

So, you are leaving school in July and it is time for your first big decision about your future. Sure, they tell you which GCSEs you choose are important, but it does not compare to this. It is a requirement in the UK that you stay in education until the age of 18; therefore, you will be studying for the next two years, it is just the question of where and how. There are a range of options available: A-levels for those academically inclined, BTECs for those looking for niche subjects and apprenticeships for those with a specific vocation in mind. If you have always dreamed of working in an office environment, then you might be considering a business and administration apprenticeship. Below, we have highlighted the advantages so you can make an informed decision.

Places it can lead

Although starting as the apprentice, business and administration apprenticeships can elevate you to lofty heights.

A level two qualification can lead to the following roles and more: administration executive, administration team leader, office supervisor, personal assistant, or secretary.

A level three qualification can go further and lead to office manager, administration team leader, personal assistant, or other roles in a range of managerial roles within a business.

Both can eventually lead to a level four qualification which can boost your job ranking further and help you to achieve great things.

Pay

Another, obvious, advantage of an apprenticeship is being paid as soon as you leave school. With the relatively new requirement that you have to stay in education for a further two years after school, many people, who were looking to be paid, now do not have the option. An apprentice wage is lower than the minimum wage, however, it is still a wage.

For many, getting a wage straight out of school is important so doing an apprenticeship is the best way to do this. For apprentices under 19 and those 19 and over in their first year, the national minimum wage is £3.90 per hour.

Knowledge you will gain

Finally, the knowledge and experience you will gain from a business and administration apprenticeship will be unparalleled. Learning about business environment, how an office is run and much more will make you an invaluable addition to any team and therefore highly desirable to employers in the future.
