Could you be the missing link? Verwood Concert Brass Principal Band are looking for a BBb bass to complete our line up. We offer well-attended rehearsals with all other seats filled, (including three excellent percussionists), under our Musical Director Kevin Smith (bass trombone with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra).
Required Standard: Championship Level
Cornet (position negotiable)
Verwood Concert Brass are looking for a cornet player (position negotiable). We have a sensible concert programme throughout the year, and contest entries in the Senior Cup, Wychavon, and the Championship Section in the West of England Area contests. We are part of the VCB organisation that includes our Town Band (3rd section finalists this year), Community Band and our beginners group, the Acorns. After a busy 18 months of fundraising we have nearly met our target of £250 000 to rebuild our band hall, which is just one example of the commitment and team ethos of the VCB community.

Welcome to the home of Verwood Concert Brass
Verwood Concert Brass is a Dorset Band based in Verwood which is very easily accessible, being 25 miles from Southampton and 12 miles from Bournemouth.
Verwood is proud to boast three thriving bands, Verwood Concert Brass, Verwood Town Band & Verwood Community Band. All three bands are run by one committee and players will play as guests in any band if required to do so.

We need to raise £250,000 to rescue our band hall.

Are You Looking For a Band?
Now available a 10-12 piece ENSEMBLE for smaller functions. You can hire any of the Bands for your events but if you just want a small group we can offer this as well.

Verwood Concert Brass
Verwood Concert Brass Principal Band is currently in the Championship section in the West of England Region under the baton of Kevin Smith. The band performs concerts regularly in the Verwood Hub Theatre, we play at many other events over the course of the year and can be contacted through this website if you are interested in hiring us. We are very lucky in owning our Band Hall which has good facilities and parking and is also available to be hired.
Rehearsals are at the Band Hall in Moorlands Road, Verwood, BH31 7PD, on Monday and Thursday evenings from 8pm to 10pm and anyone wishing to listen or meet us is more than welcome to come and introduce themselves.

Verwood Town Band
Verwood Town Band which was formed in June 2009. This has grown in confidence and is now also under the baton of Kevin Smith.
Rehearsals are at the Band Hall on Tuesday evenings from 7.30pm to 9.30pm and anyone wishing to listen or meet us is more than welcome to come and introduce themselves. New players are always welcome.

Community Band
The Band has had a Training Band since the early 1960’s. All ages are welcome. The Training Band has recently changed its name to the Community Band and is conducted by Mike Dunnings, a Bb Bass player in Verwood Concert Brass Principal Band. Mike’s enthusiasm and patience encourages the talents within the Community Band and several members have already progressed to the higher Bands. The Community Band performs regularly at local events. Rehearsals are in the Band Hall on Monday evenings from 6.15pm-7.45pm.
